About

We are excited to bring you the Raven Rocks Run, a 10k trail race on the Fire Tower Trail at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Cross River, NY.

The Raven Rocks Run will next be held Sunday, November 13, 2022. Rob Cummings is the race director of this event and will be leaning on Tony Godino and many of the Leatherman Harriers Sunday Runners for support!

The Raven Rocks Run course map is available at this site.

The Raven Rocks Run will focus on bringing in new members for the Friends of Trailside Museum and Ward Pound Ridge Reservation with a reach goal of bringing back the Cross River Mountain Fire Tower.

Annual Membership is available to become a Friend of Trailside when you sign up for the race – or you can become a member without registering for the race. We will also fund other projects at the park through donations to Friends of Trailside.

The Ward Pound Ridge Reservation fire tower was active from the 1930s through the 1970s and was dismantled in 1982.

Here are some articles about the fire tower restoration effort from the Journal News, the Pound Ridge Daily Voice, The Lewisboro Ledger, News 12 Westchester (video), and Fios 1 (video),

The Raven Rocks Run course will pass by its namesake the Raven Rocks overlook as well as the site of the former fire tower – which also happens to be the highest point in the park. Needless to say, this race will have “Hills and Thrills!”
