The Raven Rocks Run (initially called The Fire Tower 10k) is the first new race at Ward Pound Reservation in nearly 20 years. The race will return for a third year on Sunday, November 12, 2017. We hope you can join us on the trails!
The race is run on a challenging course with great views, rocky climbs, ridgeline trails, hilly meadows, ravines, and the site of the former fire tower.
Proceeds from the race will go to the Friends of the Trailside Museum and Ward Pound Ridge Reservation. One of the projects we are especially interested in is to help raise money and bring back and operate the Pound Ridge fire tower at its former site in the park. We would love it if a whole new generation could enjoy the sweeping 360 degree views of Long Island Sound, Connecticut, the Hudson Highlands, and New York City it will afford.
The Sunday Run group is a group of runners who meet on Sunday mornings all through the year in every season to run on trails.
Founded in 2010, the group has grown over the years. Runs routinely have 15-30 or more runners, depending on weather, season, and local races. Many different paces are represented and the group leaves no runner behind! Come out and run the trails with us!
